In accordance with Elberta’s rich train history, our membership levels are all related to trains!

PASSENGER – $20/year – Because it all starts when you GET ON BOARD!

GANDY DANCER– $60/year or $5/month – Gandy dancer is a term used for early railroad workers in the United States, more formally referred to as section hands, who laid and maintained railroad tracks in the years before the work was done by machines.

DISPATCHER – $120/year or $10/month – Dispatchers direct and coordinate the safe movement of railroad traffic on a specified territory from a central and/or regional location

CONDUCTOR – $240/year or $20/month – As a train crew member, a conductor travels to various locations with the train, ensuring the safe arrival of cargo to its destination. Responsibilities include switching cars, making or splitting up trains in yards, or moving cars between yards, sidings or tracks.

ENGINEER – $360/year or $30/month – A train engineer is responsible for operating a train and driving it from one destination to the next. Most train engineers start as brake operators, switch operators or conductors, and earn promotion through experience and training.

SIGNALMAN – $480/year or $40/month – The diverse responsibilities of Signalmen range from constructing and upgrading signal systems to conducting regular inspections and ensuring prompt restoration of railroad operations in case of issues

STATION MASTER – $1200/year or $100/month – The station master is responsible for the management of other station employees and holds responsibility for safety and the efficient running of the station. The term was historically employed across stations of all sizes, leading to variation in the precise role.
