As part of the Democracy: The Power of One Film Series, WUWU Community Radio will screen 3 films during the months of March, April and May. Each film will be screened at 7pm on the last Thursday of the month at the Garden Theater. Admission is Free.
Mikva! Democracy is a Verb. Abner Mikva was a tireless advocate for democracy and ethical government and believed fervently in the power of young people to effect change. DEMOCRACY IS A VERB chronicles both his remarkable career as a U.S. Congressman, Federal Judge and White House Counsel and his legacy organization, the Mikva Challenge. The story of former Congressman, Federal Judge and one-time White House Counsel Abner J. Mikva and his relentless fight against the NRA, the Daley political machine and the larger threat to democracy.
