Synthpop Nonstop is a beat-mixed, one-hour music show that features a diverse selection of classic and contemporary electronic and indie dance music with brisk, informational mic breaks.
Host/producer Patrick Whalen draws from over a decade’s experience programming public radio, as well as from years working in the record business and for global tech industry brands.
In the late ’70s, a new music subgenre, synth-pop, arose and launched the MTV era. As synthesizers became mainstream, synth-pop took up residence in nightclubs worldwide, eventually giving way to the rave scene, before coming back full force in a new century. Today, artists from the dawn of synth-pop like Depeche Mode and New Order fill arenas, supported by a new generation of artists they inspired.
